This program compiles the latest and recent European shorts that have made waves in the international scene.


Program ini adalah kompilasi film pendek Eropa terbaru dan kontemporer yang telah mendapat penghargaan di beberapa ajang film internasional.

 

1. Standby (8 minutes, United Kingdom, 2017)

Director: Charlotte Regan

In this sweet comedy, two new police partners spend an ordinary day in their patrol car getting to know each other.

Lewat film komedi yang manis ini, kita melihat dua partner polisi terpaksa menghabiskan hari mereka bersama-sama di mobil patroli mengenal satu sama lain.

  • Nominated for Best Short Film, BAFTA Awards, 2017.

 

2. Fanatic (34 minutes, Poland, 2018)

Director: Michal Tylka

A comedy that shows the clash of two different generations: a father who is  a fanatic fisherman, and his son who is addicted to internet.

Komedi tentang pertentangan dua generasi: seorang ayah yang fanatik dalam memancing ikan, dan anaknya yang kecanduan internet.

 

3. Sing (25 minutes, Hungary, 2016)

Director: Kristóf Deák

A new girl in her famous school choir must choose between standing up to a corrupt system, or quietly fitting in.

Seorang anak perempuan yang baru bergabung di paduan suara sekolahnya harus memilih antara mengungkap sistem yang korup, atau berusaha membaur.

  • Won Best Live Action Short Film, 89th Academy Awards 2017.

 

4. Reunion (15 minutes, Finland, 2015)

Directors: Iddo Soskolne, Janne Reinikainen

Facing death is never easy. But when it comes in the form of a kind young girl with music and dance, it can be more acceptable.

Menghadapi kematian tidaklah mudah. Tapi saat kematian hadir dalam bentuk gadis muda dengan musik dan tarian, mungkin kematian menjadi sedikit lebih mudah.

  • Won Special Mention for Best Short Film, Generation 14plus, Berlinale 2015.

 

5. Bon Voyage (22 minutes, Swiss, 2016)

Director: Marc Raymond Wilkins

During their holiday cruise, a Swiss couple encounter a sinking ship full of refugees and children in the middle of a Mediterranean sea.

Saat berlibur, pasangan dari Swiss menemukan kapal lain di tengah laut Mediterrania yang nyaris tenggelam, yang berisi pengungsi dan anak-anak.
